ESG Policy

Our approach

Leap Creative is a small, remote-first creative agency. We believe a business of our size can still operate responsibly and use its work to do some good. This policy sets out the practical things we do across environmental, social, and governance areas. We have kept this policy honest and specific rather than aspirational, and we review it regularly to make sure it reflects how we actually work.

Environmental

We aim to keep the footprint of our work as low as we reasonably can.

  • Renewable energy. Our UK operations run on electricity from renewable sources.

  • Remote by design. Our team works remotely across the UK, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. This means we operate without a central office and the energy and commuting that come with one.

  • Limiting travel. We favour remote collaboration and limit business travel wherever possible, only travelling when there is clear value in doing so.

  • Reducing waste. We avoid wasteful practices in how we produce and deliver work.

  • Reusing materials. Where event and print work leaves usable physical materials behind, such as banners and quality display materials, we donate them to schools rather than sending them to landfill.

Social

We use our skills, time, and a share of our income to support causes and organisations we believe in.

  • Pro bono work. We provide free creative work for selected charitable and community organisations, most recently Disability Rights UK.

  • Charity discount. We offer a 10% discount to registered charities and LGBTQ+ organisations.

  • Charitable giving. We donate to causes connected to our work. For example, we have donated the design award prize money to Sea Shepherd.

  • Accessible and sustainable by default. We inform and encourage our clients to adopt recognised accessibility and sustainability standards in the work we deliver for them, so the benefit extends beyond our own studio.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are committed to being a fair, inclusive, and welcoming place to work and collaborate. We believe diverse teams and perspectives make for better creative work, and we treat that as a strength.

  • Equal opportunity. We treat everyone we work with fairly, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation, in line with the Equality Act 2010.

  • Zero tolerance. We do not accept discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind, whether from or towards team members, clients, suppliers, or partners.

  • Fair hiring and collaboration. We give fair and equal consideration to everyone we hire or work with, and we work to remove unnecessary barriers to working with us.

  • Inclusive by design. As a creative agency, we carry these values into the work itself. We reflect the real diversity of audiences in the design, imagery, and language we produce, use inclusive and accessible language, and avoid stereotypes.

  • Accessible to all. We design with accessibility in mind so our work can be used by as many people as possible, including disabled people.

LGBTQ+ inclusion

We are proactively and visibly supportive of LGBTQ+ people. We see allyship as something we act on, not simply state.

  • A place to be yourself. We are committed to an environment where LGBTQ+ team members, clients, and collaborators are respected and supported, including respecting people's names and pronouns.

  • Visible in our work. We represent LGBTQ+ people authentically in the creative work we produce, and we steer clients away from tokenism towards genuine, respectful inclusion.

  • Active support. We offer a 10% discount to LGBTQ+ organisations.

  • Pride, included. We create Pride versions of our clients' logos at no extra cost, so showing support for their LGBTQ+ communities and staff is never a question of budget.

  • Not neutral. We are willing to decline work or messaging that demeans or excludes LGBTQ+ people.

Governance

We aim to run the business honestly and to treat the people we work with fairly.

  • Ethical conduct. We deal openly and fairly with clients, suppliers, and partners, and we decline work that conflicts with the values set out in this policy.

  • Data protection. We handle personal data responsibly and in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

  • Responsible suppliers. Where we have a choice, we prefer suppliers and partners whose practices are consistent with this policy.

Responsibility and review

This policy is owned by Corey Harris, Founder and Creative Director, who is responsible for keeping it current. We review it at least once a year, and sooner if our practices change.
